Aromatherapy Candles And Gifts

Aromatherapy is an age-old practice in which essential oils from various plants and herbs are used to maintain and enhance the mental, spiritual, and physical well-being. The practice of aromatherapy has been around for thousands of years and while many physicians have argued against its helpful qualities and results, many are reassessing these arguments. Practitioners of aromatherapy use many different products to distribute the essence of whatever plant or herb for its medicinal qualities. There are many aromatherapy products available including candles, incense, bath oils, lotions, and other bath products. These products are often used for stress relief and revitalization of the mind, body, and soul.

Perhaps because candles are such popular home accessories anyway, many people use the aromatherapy candle as an easy and effective way to distribute the aromatherapy scents into the air. The candle may be in fact the most popular aromatherapy item available. There are numerous types of candles, and aromatherapy candles are just one type. The aromatherapy candle can be made from traditional paraffin wax or pure soy wax. It has been found that pure soy wax burns cleaner than paraffin wax and leaves less soot and residue. Typically, the essential oils from a plant are infused into the wax when the candle is made. When the candle is burned, the scents are wafted through the room. Many people use aromatherapy candles for therapeutic effects including stress relief, relaxation, and mood enhancement, perhaps for a romantic evening.

An alternative to the candle is the aromatherapy diffuser, which can be used to spread the scent of essential oils throughout a room or home. Aromatherapy diffusers come in several different designs, including those heated by candles, those heated by light bulbs, and even those powered by the electrical outlet, or lighter adapter, in your car. With a diffuser, you can simply add a few drops of your desired essential oil into the holder with some water and activate the heat source. Within just a few moments, the scent will be noticed throughout the room.

All aromatherapy vehicles, such as candles and incense, or even diffusers, are able to distribute the aroma throughout the air because of essential oils. Essential oils, at full strength, are extremely potent. In fact, some aromatherapy essential oils should not be applied directly to the skin. The potency of an essential oil applied to the skin could result in some allergies or even skin damage. Many essential oils should be mixed with carrier oil for the safest bet.

Because aromatherapy is such a popular practice, many people would be happy to receive gifts related to the practice. It is probable that almost any person who practices aromatherapy would appreciate and enjoy an aromatherapy gift of some kind. Many stores and websites dedicated to aromatherapy have special gift sections. An aromatherapy candle gift could be ideal for a thank you gift or a small birthday present for a coworker. Another great gift for any aromatherapy practitioner would be bath products. Aromatherapy bath products include bath oils, shampoo, conditioners, bath gels, body washes, and even soaps.
